broken things

Last night, while driving home from work, I wondered if my iPod was finally broken beyond use.... Granted, it is old and the battery is supposed to lose its life after so many charge cycles... so looks like I need to get a new iPod battery.... I bought a new FM Transmitter last week and suddenly it seemed to be broken as well as I was trying to play something from the iPod using the transmitter. Not a single sound wave came out of it.... Then I tried the old transmitter and then my headphones.... still not a single sound! What is broken? iPod or everything else?? Hmm.....

Suddenly, so many things seemed to be broken at the same time!

My Titanium G4 doesn't charge anymore! Even its lid doesn't close completely... Glad the 3-year AppleCare is still valid (till November)!

My Canon PowerShot G3 is broken! It will take the pictures but won't save them! Huh! What is the use!

Oh yes, the internet connection at home has been down since a week! The ISP says the DSL router is fried and that I need to buy a new one! I am not paying 300 bucks for that!! Let them keep my business by giving it for free or I am moving to Comcast cable!!

The dish connection in the living room went off a couple of weeks ago.... Glad the connection in the bedroom upstairs still works. Until the dish guys show up to fix it, I am running a cable from the bedroom to the living room. The cable is so taut that it literally looks like I am hanging my TV with a cable from upstairs ;) And why can't I just watch the TV in my bedroom? Oh well, the 8-year old bedroom TV is broken! Thinking of buying a wall-hanging plasma for the bedroom :)

As these thoughts were going through my mind on and off, a cop's car closes in on me from behind and starts flashing lights. I pull over to the right, my dog is confused looking at all the flashing lights behind us and all the cars zipping past us at 55mph. He is thinking what the hell is going on (exactly what I am thinking as well!). I don't remember speeding anywhere.... There were a few patches of 35mph zones and I literally followed the law.... Where did I miss?

The cop comes over and chats up with me, asks me if I am in a hurry. I say no... and he tells me I was doing 60 in a 45mph zone. Whatever... I don't remember doing that.... we chat a little and I am thinking 75 bucks.... Nope, this cop turns out to be awesome! He lets me go with a warning! Hurray! As I am thanking him and collecting my Driver's License from him, he bends over, points his finger at something on my license and says "By the way, I am not sure if you have noticed it, but your license has expired. Please renew it right away!"

Wow!!!!!

I guess all is not broken, eh?
